Schweizer Design Consulting is a self managed design agency with a team of 8 core members, which for more than 15 years have designed for the highly demanding industrial design market.
Our clients come from various sectors such as automotive, office, home, lifestyle, health, sports and leisure. Among those are owner-managed start up companies, whose products and brands we have help shape from the beginning, as well as internationally established companies and corporations.
Our work has gained numerous international awards and the large number of long-term, successful customer relationships underlines the quality of our designs and ability to maintain a good dialogue during cooperation.
Founded in April 2000, the agency was a joint venture between Oliver Schweizer and Matthias Junghanns. Both studied Product design at HfG Karlsruhe and knew each other through several joint projects. Prior to start up, Oliver worked for 6 years both as a freelancer and staff designer in a prestigious automotive and product design company.
Matthias Junghanns left the agency in the end of 2001 to do a Masters in Transportation Design.
In our compact team, the members are characterized by a variety of skills, flexibility and personal interests. This allows for tasks and ideas to be processed by multiple heads and view sets. For coping with specific technical expertise or capacity peaks, we have a well maintained network of freelance colleagues.
Futhermore Oliver Schweizer is co-partner of Schweizer & Schweizer Design Partner GbR since 2013. S&SDP is licensed to offer labour leasing which offers a better responsiveness to customer requirements.

Company Founder, Chief Designer and Manager
In addition to management, Oliver is the primary contact for our customers. He plans and manages projects and is responsible for the ideation and styling of the designs. He founded this joint and runs his studio with a lot of passion and commitment.
After his product design degree at the Karlsruhe College, Oliver worked as a staff designer for many renowned customers. This experience is supplemented by additional qualifications in marketing. Further more, he has given help and advice to some start-ups and spin-offs what has added to his product communications experience.
“Developing a product takes us through many stages from the search for its identity to formulating all its details. This is highly intriguing from beginning to end“
Senior Surface Designer
After graduating from HFG Schwäbisch Gmünd in 2003 Farouk gained valuable experience in different areas of industrial and automotive design, where he worked for numerous bespoke customers. He is likewise a designer, modeller and surfacer. Both the conceptual design work as well as its implementation into 3D give him much pleasure alike. His strengths are a strong eye for details and a sense of quality.
His passion is the sea, which he likes to explore on vacation snorkeling and scuba diving. In his spare time he clears his mind with Yoga. He also loves rock music and very spicy food.
“Vollkommenheit entsteht offensichtlich nicht dann, wenn man nichts mehr hinzuzufügen hat, sondern wenn man nichts mehr wegnehmen kann.“
(Antoine de Saint-Exupéry)
Kevin’s passion for surfing in California gave him his first impression for design at a young age. Hand shaping and creating every surfboard he uses gave him an early attraction to visualizing surfaces. Now he is pushing his craft to a new level with Alias. He plans to use this tool to develop his skills in the 3D surfacing arts as he heads towards the career path of an alias modeler.
“Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try!”
Bachelor of Arts in Product Design
Creative and open-minded thinker. Patrick studied Product design at the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Schwäbisch Gmünd. After his studies he worked almost two years in north Germany. He designed agricultural machinery, from concept to production-ready. With his acquired skills he’s a perfect addition to the team.
Patrick has a passion for almost everything that has wheels and an engine. Building and designing E-Bikes is one of his biggest hobbies.
„Design is a tool. It’s not a luxury. It’s a discipline.“
Dominik studies Industrial Design at Hochschule für Gestaltung in Pforzheim. He likes to draw what pops in his mind, often motored vehicles. But he also gets excited about other everyday products. He always tries to find potential for improvement and to present his ideas quickly and easily. And if the inspiration is missing, a short motorcycle tour helps to get a clear head again.
„Design is communication, inspiration and emotion.“
Bachelor of Arts in Automotive Interior Design
A creative head with a pronounced understanding of form. After studying in Reutlingen he dealt intensively with buses and caravans for two years before joining our team. He contributes this experience now into the design and implementation of emotional products combined with the surfacing knowledge he has gained at SDC. Besides this he is a full-blooded musician, with his own band.
““The inflationary and therefore often adulterated use of the term design increases more and more the requirements for a good product. Only when a product can convince – not just through its aesthetic but also with its logic and contemporary philosophy – it does make sense for me to talk of design.”
Peter ten Klooster,
Master of Arts in Vehicle Design
Peter studied Industrial Design in Enschede (the Netherlands) and Querétaro (Mexico), followed by a Master in Vehicle Design at the Royal College of Art in London. This background gave him technical knowledge of product design and manufacturing, combined with the creative and conceptual skills of car design. He feels at home in the digital world and likes to explore new ways of how the computer can be of use in the design process. In his spare time Peter likes to play (beach) volleyball and to travel around the world.
“Have no fear of perfection,
you’ll never reach it.” (Salvador Dali)
Master in Transportation and Car Design
Tiago studied Mechanical Engineering in Porto (Portugal), followed by a Master in Transportation and Car Design at Scuola Politecnica di Design (Milan/Italy). He has a broad perspective on design, which takes into account both the aesthetic characteristics and the technical constraints in the development and use. In his spare time he likes to travel.
„Recognizing the need is the primary condition for design.“ (Charles Eames)
